Well hello there and a very warm welcome to the home of the Art Playground Blog.
Tina O with you here today to share my interpretation of this months September play......... Oh Blessed Mistake.
I don't think that there has ever been a time in my creating that I have NOT made a mistake. Every creation seems to have its little problems whether they are big or small. From these big or small mistakes I find the challenge to keep going on and to push through and to find a way to amend the mistake or just make it pretty. I do admit that there are the times that I just have to walk away and come back, maybe the next day, but I always go back and finish. I find it challenging and that is what keeps me from throwing it in the bin. In these layouts I may even find a new way to do something or even a new colour from just making a mistake! Mistakes are a beautiful thing.
Yes there is no such thing as a mistake, it is only the start of something beautiful !
Well enough about my mistakes and more about the project. This is "You fill my heart" ......
My mojo is running a little low at the moment, and even though this happens from time to time I keep pushing through because stopping is just never an option for me................hehehehe! So the gorgeous moodboard for me was very striking and I think elegant in so many ways but as you can see that may have been my aim but things never ever go to plan. My first thing that I saw was the black and then the purple in the moodbloard. So I checked my stashed for an photo and one in black and white. This photo of my youngest is a favourite, yes I know I say that often but it is an old favourite that I have never used ever before. The colour version of this is just as stunning and her green gorgeous eyes are beyond amazing but I still decided to stay with the starkness of the black and white. I have co-ordinated my photo with gorgeous 49andMarket papers from 3 different collections (Captured Adventures, Scents of Nature and the flower fairies Looking Through collection, These 3 collections just blend perfectly for my project here today. I tore distressed and layered my papers. I did some embossing with some stamps from 49andMarket. I also made a couple of transparency frames with my embossing powders too. Those are the frames that you can see below.
I have used lots and lots of my favourite Dusty Attic Chipboards. Some have been painted and others Spritzed. The number chipboards which I just looooooove were spritzed in a silver and then I painted around the number edges with black acrylic paint to highlight each number. There are lots of layers in this project. I have combined lace and muslin also.
And of course no layout is ever complete with a gorgeous assortment of beautiful and stunning flowers from 49andMarket. I have used many differing collections here. Basically just using what is in my stash to co-ordinate with the layout.
Above you can see more clearly the layers and yet another piece of stunning Dusty Attic frame pieces. I love this piece too. It is a very elegant border frame but I think it still sits nicely on my layout.
And lastly I added in some art stones and some black Glass Glitter. Oh and of course a dry brush with white gesso to tone down anything too bold and bright.
Well that is all from me tonight. I do hope that the next time you are scrapping and you make a mistake that you just keep going and push through. I promise you will find something absolutely beautiful in what you do to mend your layout and bring out the best in your mistakes. Until next time take care of your beautiful selves and happy crafting.
